Miriam Döring (she/her, they/them, born 1993 in Neuss) is a Berlin-based artist with a focus on installation, working across sculpture, drawing and text, sound and video. With a materially informed somatic approach, she explores the scars and symptoms of a capitalist, ableist, and patriarchal historiography. Döring challenges medical, mythical, and politicised concepts of the body through counternarratives that reframe vulnerability as a site of agency and empowerment. In so doing, she negotiates the conditions for permeability and responsiveness of bodies and speculates on their potential for worldsensing, world-making, and interconnectedness.
